Learning Beyond the Classroom: P1 and P2 Engage–Experience–Extend (E³) Programme
Our Primary 1 students embarked on an exciting learning journey to the Singapore Zoo, while our Primary 2 students visited Mandai Bird Paradise for the first time! As part of the Engage–Experience–Extend (E³) Programme, these carefully planned experiences provided meaningful opportunities for students to connect learning across subjects through real-world exploration and discovery.
Through observing animals, sharing ideas and engaging in hands-on activities, students developed essential 21st Century Competencies, including collaboration, communication, and critical and inventive thinking. The journeys also reinforced important character outcomes by nurturing care for animals, respect for the environment and kindness towards one another.
These memorable experiences brought learning to life, inspiring our young learners to stay curious, think creatively and become caring and responsible individuals.
Engage
Before embarking on their learning journeys, our Primary 1 and Primary 2 students participated in engaging pre-learning activities to spark their curiosity and build excitement. Through interactive discussions, hands-on tasks and collaborative activities, students explored interesting facts about animals and their habitats. They also learnt the different ways to show care towards the animals and the environment. These activities activated prior knowledge, encouraged thoughtful questioning and prepared students to make meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-world experiences at the Singapore Zoo and Mandai Bird Paradise.

Experience
Our Primary 1 students enjoyed an exciting adventure at the Singapore Zoo, while our Primary 2 students explored the wonders of Mandai Bird Paradise. Through observing animals and birds up close, discovering their unique characteristics and learning about their habitats, students deepened their understanding of the natural world. They shared observations, asked questions and worked together to make new discoveries. These enriching experiences also nurtured empathy and a sense of responsibility towards animal welfare and environmental conservation, making learning both meaningful and memorable.

Extend
Following their learning journeys, our Primary 1 and Primary 2 students participated in post-journey activities to consolidate their learning, reflect on character values and apply their skills. Through sharing their experiences and completing meaningful tasks, students reinforced their understanding of animal care, environmental conservation and the importance of caring for one another.
